If you have not read the others in the series, skip my review and go get the book. This review will contain spoilers for the previous books.
Indebted #4 ended with a shot and left me hanging on the edge. I wondered, where can the story go from here? Jethro and Kes are dead. It won't be long before Cut has Nila's head and it's over. Nila's only hope out of this barbaric situation is gone and dead. She has to deal with not only Cut but Bonnie and crazy Daniel also. All of this and she is on her own. I thought maybe, just maybe, Jasmine would come to her rescue, but nope. Jaz became a monster seeking revenge.
In the previous books, Nila grew to become a fighter. She wanted to end this tradition once and for all. She also wanted revenge, not only for her, but for her ancestors. Will be able to? Can she remain strong enough?
Nila's time is running out. Things at Hawksridge have changed. No longer are the days that Nila can roam around the estate and rooms as she pleases. Jethro and Kes are no longer there to protect her. Who can she really trust?
To be honest, the beginning of the book dragged some. Nila was grieving, and I understand, but pick yourself up and fight! Use that head to figure out what is going on. I began to enjoy it more but was also torn to learn about Jethro and Kes. To learn how cruel Cut could be, and how heartless. WOW!
I cannot wait for the last debt. I am sure it too will be a roller-coaster ride. My hope is Nila and Vaughn make it out alive and end this crazy debt inheritance once and for all.
